Dust valance and frame

Vacuum top to bottom using the upholstery attachment for drapes and the brush attachment for blinds

Mix equal parts of water and white vinegar in a bucket

Wet and clean window with a sponge

Use squeegee to remove solution

Finish by wiping window with a microfiber cloth or crumpled newspaper

Water System and Plumbing

Appliances

Schedule a maintenance service appointment for water softener system

Remove and clean aerators on all faucets

Remove shower nozzles and clean with vinegar or calcium, lime and rust remover

Dryer - Use vacuum attachment to clean vents

Refrigerator - Roll out from wall and vacuum coils and clean condensation drop pan

Freezer - Turn off power, empty freezer, wipe interior with a solution of 2 tablespoons of baking soda per 1 Quart hot water

Oven - Use oven cleaner or, if available, use self cleaning program

Floors

Furniture

Dust baseboards; use "magic" eraser to remove scuff marks

Edge carpet with vacuum attachments; vacuum carpet thoroughly

Steam clean carpet

Wax vinyl and linoleum floors with a polish designed for these surfaces

Reseal grout lines on tile floors with a penetrating grout sealer
-
Stone and tile floors can be treated with either a paste or liquid wax designed for the material

Bookshelves -
Take everything off shelves and brush shelves and books with a feather duster;
use dust-brush or crevice tool on vacuum to reach into tight spots;
wipe spines of leather-bound books with a clean, soft cloth

Wooden Furniture -
Wipe surfaces with soft cloth dampened with water and mild dish washing liquid; wax
or oil according to manufacturer's instructions

Upholstered Furniture - Take
cushions outside and gently beat by hand;
use vacuum attachment to clean under seat cushions
-
Beds - Turn over mattress; machine-wash pillows (follow care labels) to rid them of mold, bacteria, and odors
